Donald Trump is the latest version of Herbert Hoover. Trump is intervening in the economy on a massive scale just as Hoover did to deal with the economic downturn that became the Great Depression.
There is no sugarcoating Trump's tariffs. They are anti-consumer and anti-liberty.
Trump is intervening in the US economy on a scale not seen since the big government Republican Herbert Hoover administration. Trump’s recent threat to US auto companies is reminiscent of Hoover’s threats during the economic downturn that began under his watch in 1929. In short, Trump has embraced big government Republicanism.
Yes, ridding the federal government of “fraud, waste, and abuse” is a good first step. However, using the federal government to shape the $28 trillion US economy is no different than Bernie Sanders vision for the country. More government intervention in the economy is statism.
Mandates, tariffs, money printing, income taxes, and unconstitutional spending, must be abolished. America is strong because of free markets not federal government spending, money printing, and regulations.
In other words, a free market economy is the best means to achieve prosperity and peaceful relations with other countries. Thomas Jefferson asserted: “Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none.”
Democratic and Republican presidents have turned their backs on Jefferson’s wise vision for the American people. Statism —whether imposed by Democrats or Republicans—must be deep-sixed.
The solution: MAKE AMERICANS FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT.
