Left wing multimillionaires and billionaires for Biden
How ideology trumps financial self interest

Today’s column will be brief because I am traveling to Austin this afternoon. On Saturday I will discuss the state of the economy for Mises Caucus of the Libertarian Party. See below for details of the national Human Action tour of the Caucus.
After Joe Biden announced his reelection bid the other day, several of America’s wealthy individuals expressed their support. Biden’s 2024 budget includes massive tax increases on the very people who have declared Joe is their guy. What gives?
This is another example of people not voting their pocketbook but who have embraced the welfare-warfare state ideology of entitlements, endless wars, money printing, and unconditional support for the military-industrial complex.
Our country has been transformed from a generally limited government society to a statist one for the past 100 years. Since 1960 I have witnessed this when I became “politically aware” during the 1960 Kennedy-Nixon presidential race.
Our country is a few executive orders and/or laws from being a full-blown fascist society. For a historical perspective on this, see John Flynn’s 1944 book, As We Go Marching: A biting indictment of the coming of domestic fascism in America. This is a must read. I read Flynn’s masterpiece nearly 50 years ago which solidified my opposition to the welfare-warfare state.
There are scores of books and articles about the transformation of America and In June I will make a presentation in Naples about why America is not the America of the Founders.
Have a restful weekend.
