and why the Supreme Court is a tool of big government

Robert Wright’s review of my book captures the essence of my journey in America.
“There is a right way and a wrong way, always choose the right way.” Abraham Sabrin (1914-2001)
For decades Republicans, conservative talking heads, and right-wing pundits have argued that the Supreme Court needs “strict constitutionalists” to protect the American people’s rights.
The latest unanimous Supreme Court decision should lay to rest the assertion that the “conservative” justices on the bench will protect taxpayers against the “depredations” of the IRS.
The Wall Street Journal editorial reviews the Court’s decision but does not make the logical conclusion…the income tax and the IRS must be abolished.
The WSJ’s editorial writers should read Fran Chodorov’s Income Tax: Root of All Evil. They would then conclude that the income tax makes the welfare-warfare state possible. However, the WSJ supports the warfare state—and for that matter the welfare state--which requires hundreds of billions of taxpayers’ dollars to fund endless wars and military bases throughout the world, an expression of the American Empire. The WSJ thus would never call for the abolition of the evil 16th amendment, which effectively canceled the principles of the American Revolution.
Replacing the income tax with the oxymoronic “Fair Tax” is just substituting one evil for another.
A free society, where property rights are respected, does not require taxation. Taxation is an involuntary exchange and must be replaced with voluntary exchanges for all goods and services—even national defense--the people want.
Numerous economists and other analysts have made the case for a tax-free society. I made the case nearly 30 years ago in Tax Free 2000.

Murray Sabrin, PhD, is emeritus professor of finance, Ramapo College of New Jersey. Dr. Sabrin is considered a “public intellectual” for writing about the economy in scholarly and popular publications. His new book, The Finance of Health Care: Wellness and Innovative Approaches to Employee Medical Insurance (Business Expert Press, Oct. 24, 2022), and his other BEP publication, Navigating the Boom/Bust Cycle: An Entrepreneur’s Survival Guide (October 2021), provides decision makers with tools needed to help manage their businesses during the business cycle. Sabrin's autobiography, From Immigrant to Public Intellectual: An American Story, was published in November, 2022.
Taxes are theft. The "Greater Good" or "Good of Society" is a Communist lie. "But you use the roads don't you?" is a canard. We are tax slaves to the State.
The 3 branches of government...the tax thugs, the slave masters and the fools who pretend that they matter.
